Hi all
There was a buzz on building a free software business directory for gnu.org.in . Can we discuss what exactly should go into this so I can begin work on some static .html pages for a start ?

Hi Ranjit,
We can start with something like this:
http://www.symonds.net/~fsug-kochi/bizdir/bizdir.html

To be truthful... "A good start is half the doing"..and I wouldn't advise that particular example :)

After you decide what kind of information is required for each entry, let me know. I will make a separate object. We have developed a authentication product for membership with each volunteer getting a folder, where he/she can put information of the kind he/she is authorized. Similarly I can update that product for business info also. That student who did that is now on leave, may be in a week time I will complete it if he doesn't turn up and finish the product.

I think we can broadly base our effort on the FSUG-Kochi page intention, but we really do need to put a lot more matter into it. We should at least be able to sort it by categories- eg. Distros, products, services, etc. and cities/states. I guess that's expected of a biz directory.
One major doubt- what about the content? How many FSUGs/LUGs have a listing we could use?
I'm not sure about the functionality of the product N'juna is working on.. .. will we be using it to replace the static html pages we have in our directories or is this for something else? Sorry if I missed something earlier. Pls enlighten so I know if there's something I can do.
