Prav project has crossed 100 people pledging to be a member of the coop today! 🚀 Though we have 102 people across India, we need to make it 50 each from two states, with Kerala at 55, we are hoping to bring Maharashtra to 50 next, which is currently at 19. We need your help. Additionally this brings the money pledged to 5.6 lakhs (some people have pledged to buy more than one share) and we have 102 followers on the fediverse/mastodon! Deadline and plan B for finding enough members from a second state to register as a multi state cooperative society

We have set a deadline for gathering required members to register as a multi state cooperative society through a poll in our codema.in group (people who have shown interest to help plan the project are part of the group). If we don't get 50 members from a second state by 15th June 2023, we should register it as a cooperative society in Kerala (it will be limited to members from a single district). Later when we reach required numbers for the multi state society, we can transfer ownership to it. So if we don't find 50 members from a second state (we have 50 from Kerala), we have to find 25 people from a single district in Kerala.

How can you help prav project

For prav project to be successful, we need more people to join as members of the Multi State Cooperative Society. By law, we need at least 50 members each from two Indian states before we can do the registration. At the moment have 50+ members from Kerala, 17 members from Maharashtra, and a few from various other states. Details are at https://prav.app/become-a-member. We have decided that if we fail to reach 50 members from a second state by June 15 this year, we plan to register as a cooperative in Kerala. This is an intermediate measure: we will still work to meet the necessary requirements in other states, and once that’s done, we will register as a Multi State Cooperative Society as originally planned. If we don’t get enough members by June 15th, we will have to go through a two-step process to register. To prevent this, we’re trying to onboard members as soon as possible—and we need your help! - You can register as a member and spread the word to your friends to register as well, by visiting https://prav.app/become-a-member. - To help you explain Prav, we’ve put together a poster attached which you can share with people. - We are currently in private beta testing.
